We humans are excellent at justifying our actions – especially when we’re caught out!
(Q) The relationship with the young girl at work might seem innocent enough, but where’s it heading?
(Q) The magazine you found at the Gym tickles your fancy, but where’s that heading?
(Q) The drink you consumed last night helped chase away the shadows, but where’s it heading?
GOD knows everything, and He always examines all our motives, so why not stop and ask Him to reveal them to us? ... perhaps the shock of the yawning chasm we’re ultimately heading towards would scare the heck out of us and turn us back?
GOD, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways— the path that brings me back to you. (Psa 139:23)
