I received a few work-related emails some weeks ago that weren’t very pleasant, and to be honest, I didn’t take the (poorly veiled) criticisms too well. NB - I’m actually not telling you this for some sort of support but to point out that my reaction wasn’t in any way holy.
The overall hurt I felt didn’t throw me onto Christ but into self-justification - in effect, I got angry and immediately set about trying to justify myself (and the vindication I needed).
Unfortunately, for those of us in this position, GOD’s Word 'clearly' states that sensitivity is a symptom of pride; we’re easily hurt, and our egos become quickly deflated when others point out our mistakes.
Bottom line – is my earthly position more important than my standing with my Heavenly Father?
So I turn again to the One who sees all my heart’s motives. The One who Loves me enough to NEVER stop searching me – my loving Healer (mental, physical and spiritual) and Eternal Friend.
You keep every promise you’ve ever made to me! Since your love for me is constant and endless, I ask you, Lord, to finish every good thing that you’ve begun in me! (Psa 138:8)
