“For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.” (Isa 55:8)
Many of us pray, and then our minds wander down the road of “I wonder how you’re going to make this happen? Perhaps like this…? Or, then again, it would be great if you did it like that …?”
The trouble with ‘our’ plans is that they’re often tainted with the dark spots of judgement, justification - or even vengeance.
(Jesus speaking) “It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbour’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this I-know-better-than-you mentality again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your own part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbour.” (Luke 6:41)
Child of the Living GOD, there are enough problems in this world without you fighting GOD too! Let go of your fear to control and let GOD make you really free.
