To me, life is like the analogy of crabs in a bucket.
Crabs have no option but to get dragged along with all the other crabs until sheer momentum raises them up to the lip of the bucket, but just when freedom seems to be in their grasp – another crab sees the opportunity to use them as a ladder. They grab their legs, but because neither of them has a firm grip on the lip, this pulls them both back under!
Imagine if, instead of all the pushing, pulling and hurting each other, all the crabs stopped and simply decided to help themselves get out of the bucket? They could easily form a chain, and freedom would be theirs in minutes!
Lord, help me to see the reality of your Words of Wisdom today. Help me to strengthen the chains of love with those around me. Those I need to love. Amen!
