Our GOD can (and will) come through for us in the most amazing ways. One that sticks in my mind was at Bible College where we were introduced to a wonderful missionary to the Amazon. He told us of a time when he was in a party of three missionaries who were trying to cross a particularly difficult river during the monsoon. The river wasn't especially deep, but it was running tremendously fast, so they needed to keep their footing and walk as best they could. As additional security, they found a log, and all of them, holding on to it for dear life, set out together to wade to the other side.
At the halfway point, the river was almost over their heads, and the missionary told us that he couldn’t feel the bottom any longer, so he hung on to the log for fear of his life, figuring that the other two must have been able to walk, as the log continued on a straight line to the other bank.
Once on the opposite bank, the missionary thanked the other two for saving his life by keeping on walking when he couldn’t any longer. The other two bowed their heads in awe and confessed that they, too, couldn’t feel the bottom any longer, so they too also hung on to the log in great fear!
As such, no one's feet guided the log against the pull of the river and its strong current, and yet all of them arrived safely.
