(John 17:1) "Jesus said these things. Then, raising his eyes in prayer, he said: Father, it’s time. Display the bright splendor of your Son So the Son in turn may show your bright splendor. You put him in charge of everything human So he might give real and eternal life to all in his charge. And this is the real and eternal life: That they know you, The one and only true God, And Jesus Christ, whom you sent…”
THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS ...
I was having lunch some time ago with a good friend who’s been walking with his son through Autism. NB - His son was at the time in his mid-20s and seemed extremely capable of managing his own life.
I asked my friend if his input had lessened over the years, and his response stopped me dead in my tracks: “… Sometimes I overcompensate for what he’s already overcome!”
This made me think of Christians whose lives are dull and bound by fear. Their prayer lists are always full of ‘protection’ prayers, applying armour and constantly casting out demons; as such, they never really ‘live' in the Awesome Victory that the Christ of GOD has won for us!
Lord Jesus, help us to know and trust all you’ve done 'for' and ‘in’ us. Amen!
GOD, who created all our hearts, says, “Stop stressing and listen to My Voice—My love will guide you. Do your part and trust in Me enough to honour Me.”
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Amy, Franca, Daniela, Kristina, Paul, Roger, Alastair, Ian, Alex, Alexander, Lynette, James, Keiron, Samantha, Jay, Liliana, Maria, Susanna, and those you bring to our minds right now… Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
