(Matthew 18:21) "Later Peter approached Jesus and said, “How many times do I have to forgive my fellow believer who keeps offending me? Seven times?” Jesus answered, “Not seven times, Peter, but seventy times seven times!”
This Scripture always reminds me of a conversation I had with my Mother just before she went home to be with the Lord.
Me: Ciao Mamma, did you enjoy Christmas?
Mamma: You know, my son, this is my 87th Christmas, and I really did this year. The gifts were so special.
Me: Why, Mamma, what made it different?
Mamma: Well, I did what I’ve always done. First, I read the cards. Then, I read the small messages on the gifts. Then I opened the gifts, and then I thank God for all those gifts and for the people who have blessed me. They were beautiful gifts for an 87-year-old woman. My great-grandson bought me a small doll—I tell you the truth, I have never had my own doll.
Me: Wow! I never knew …!
(I then ask how everyone else is, and my mother asks me about certain things)
Mamma: My son, I’ve been thinking that whenever you mention (so and so), it hurts me.
Me: Oh, Mamma, don’t worry. I just need to get over what they did...
Mamma: my son, you know better than they do. If you don’t forgive them from your heart, you’ll be chained to them forever...!
(GOD’s Word to you) “My precious child, you need to forgive because you need My forgiveness! Do not lose heart, my Child – Trust in Me enough to honour Me.”
