(Luke 6:27) “To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the supple moves of prayer for that person. If someone slaps you in the face, stand there and take it. If someone grabs your shirt, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more payback. Live generously."
Outside every prison in today's world, wives and husbands will be queuing up to be with their partners inside. If not them, then mums and dads, children and siblings, family and friends, all depressingly traumatised by the lamentable and terrible experience but still all willing to offer support.
I have myself joined many Christian ministries that have visited those 'inside' and confirm that the groaning remonstrations and cries for support, pity, and even vengeance will be bouncing off the very walls, amplifying profoundly as each person 'tunes in' to the pain while filing through into the very depths of the prison itself.
How do we love the world's 'unforgiven' ...? ONLY by the Grace of GOD. He alone provides a living Hope that is unafraid of change. He alone offers a perpetual Hope that can pray for and believe for change!
(GOD's Word to you) "Do not lose heart, my Child - Trust in Me enough to honour Me.”
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Roger, Alastair, Ian, Alex, Alexander, Lynette, James, Keiron, Jay, Liliana, Maria, Susanna, and those you bring to our minds right now… Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
