(Psalm 34:7) "God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray."

(Luke 11:1) One day, he (Jesus) was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said, “Master, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”

So he said,

“When you pray, say, Father, Reveal who you are. Set the world right. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.” (Luke 11:1)

Well… I don’t know where you are in your walk with the Lord, but what primarily hits me between the shoulder blades is “Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.”

Followed closely by, “Keep me safe from myself!”

Please feel free to reread it again from any Bible translation you prefer and pick and choose your own points from that. Me? I'll just kneel here for a while (trying not to sulk)!

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Roger, Alastair, Barbara (has had the 'all clear' so no further treatment. Hallelujah)! Ian, Alex, Alexander, Lynette, James, Keiron, Jay, Liliana, Maria, Susanna, and those you bring to our minds right now... Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
