I think I've told you this story before - if so, I apologise, but it was in my heart for you ... My mother had suffered a terrible heart attack and couldn't operate her newsagent shop anymore while she recovered. As such, for a few years, I would open the shop and set out the newspapers until the morning staff arrived.

Anyway, I remember immersing myself into a horrible murder trial vividly portrayed each day through the daily papers. In fact, every day, it seemed to draw me ever further in. One day I suffered a severe migraine so bad that I couldn’t get out of bed!

I was in my late 30s and had never had a headache before then, much less a migraine and couldn’t work it out!

I prayed and praised as best I could, and a few hours later, it just lifted, and I really thanked God for His Mercy.

Next day, same newspapers, same effect – migraine from Hell …!

This time it was so severe that my balance went, and I cried out to GOD with the pain and begged Him for help and release. As I lay there snivelling, a still, small voice seemed to whisper, “You willingly fill yourself with anger, judgement and all forms of ugly thoughts; what did you think would happen?”

I repented – it lifted … I will NEVER forget that experience and have walked shy of anything like it again, not wanting to give the devil that kind of foothold in my life!
