Remember what you said to me, your servant— I hang on to these words for dear life!

These words hold me up in bad times; yes, your promises rejuvenate me. The insolent ridicule me without mercy, but I don’t budge from your revelation. I watch for your ancient landmark words, and know I’m on the right track…

I set your instructions to music and sing them as I walk this pilgrim way. I meditate on your name all night, GOD, treasuring your revelation, O GOD.

Still, I walk through a rain of derision because I live by your Word and counsel. (Psalm‬ ‭119:49)

Whenever my wife ministers to someone’s pain, she always quotes John McKay and asks: “Have you got a Word from GOD?” If the person says no, she then asks: “Well, what was the last Word you had from Him? Let’s go back to that Signpost you had and move on from there…!”

Why does she do that? Because she knows that ... "Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. (2 Peter‬ ‭1:3)
