(John 17:1) "When Jesus had spoken these things, He raised His eyes to heaven [in prayer] and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify You. Just as You have given Him power and authority over all mankind, [now glorify Him] so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him [to be His—permanently and forever].

Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent."

Once again, the Holy Spirit leads me back to an awesome statement of Grace on which we can all agree (and act).

My heart pounds as I ponder this! Eternal life isn't at all about living up there with the Angels or down here in as much comfort as we can muster. It's about letting go of all the paraphernalia, thoughts, and schemes we've surrounded ourselves with and returning in humility to the One supreme and sovereign GOD who knows our hearts and motives and still loves us. Returning (in GOD's eyes) means getting to know Him and, in the same manner, knowing Jesus as the Christ whom GOD sent...!

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into Your presence and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Alastair, Barbara, Ian, James, Keiron, Jay, Liliana, Maria and Susanna. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
