Consequences of a [Supernatural] relationship with the Holy Spirit. (5)

(Continuing on from yesterday’s message)... I looked around our small enclave in the office, and (you’ve guessed it) another man stood up and said, “Now let me tell you how my friend who was born with Polio and whose leg was all shrivelled up and could only move around on crutches, received his miracle healing from Jesus.”

“We all knew him from the local pub. He’d come in pretty much every night, but after a while, he started looking really poorly, and then we began noticing his prolonged absences. We didn’t see him at all throughout the summer and autumn and missed him. We were all back in the pub, sitting around a belting log fire in the dead of winter, when in he walked. He looked extraordinarily healthy; the crutches were gone, and he was walking on two feet!

This is the story he told us all … “I’d been feeling increasingly poorly this past few months with a fever, fatigue, headache, and vomiting. I couldn’t get out of bed, what with the stiffness in my neck, and I had terrible pains in my limbs. Anyway, my sister came down south and started looking after me. She was a practising Christian, and her constant singing and cheerfulness really seemed to help.

One day, she came back from Church and told me that she’d spoken with her Vicar and that he wanted to see me that very afternoon - you didn’t argue with my sister. She managed to bundle me into her car, and off we went. We arrived around 3 pm, and the Vicar (Colin Urquhart, no less) ushered us into his front room where we had tea and a chat. He then began to speak about the love of Jesus and how he died for our sins but now is risen and how He still heals today. He then asked if he could pray for me … I don’t really remember much else, but just that I felt ‘something’ like tingling electricity rushing through my body.

I remember then how my sister reached into her bag, brought out my other shoe, bent down, and placed it on the floor before me—her faith was so great! As I looked down at the shoe, it dawned on me that I could actually see two normal legs and two normal feet! It took a while for the penny to finally drop, and then the room erupted!

Everyone was hugging and crying, and when the Vicar asked if I wanted to receive Jesus into my heart, I gladly accepted Him!

It was winter, and my sister wanted to drive me back home. I told her I’d see her back there as I wanted to walk back and talk to Jesus…

*Footnote* All these beautiful stories of Jesus being Lord of ALL were told to us on the same morning, of the same day and to the same people on the 5th floor of one of the largest Telcos in the UK. If you read through each testimony, you'll see that I didn’t seek to evangelise, plan or dictate the events. I simply turned away from my natural emotions and obeyed the Lord by giving her that was my previous tormentor my tangerine ...!

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into Your presence and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara and Ian fighting cancer. We also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay and Liliana. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
