(Mark 9:23) “I believe; help my unbelief!”

Consequences of a [Supernatural] relationship with the Holy Spirit.

It was late October 1996, and we in the North suffered terribly under a horribly recessive financial market; in fact, the only houses selling were those being reduced by more than 20% discount! Nonetheless, we believed that the Holy Spirit was calling us to study at Bible College in the forthcoming January, and this meant we had to somehow sell our home for as much as possible and then attend to all the additional problems of moving our family 260 miles down South.

Truthfully - although I wanted to keep believing, I became increasingly fearful the more I thought through the minutiae of the whole thing and even procrastinated about which Estate Agents to use (as their fees were horrific)! Of course, I sought the Lord (incessantly), but all He would say was, "Trust Me.'

Anyway, one Saturday morning in November, at 08:30, there was a knock on the door. Bear in mind that I had just tried to give the children their breakfast. The smell of burnt toast permeated everywhere, and the house was (in my wife's words) a total mess!

I opened the door to an extremely pregnant young lady and her family, who told me they had 'heard' we were selling the house and moving south. Apparently, they had been let down on another property. (Extremely) long story short, as long as we moved out as soon as possible, they wouldn't baulk at the price. We sold them the house for exactly what we were looking for, with NO Estate Agent fees—and even though it smelt of burned toast!

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into your heart and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara and Ian fighting cancer. We also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay and Liliana. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
