Our hearts bubble over as we celebrate the fame of your marvellous beauty, bringing bliss to our hearts. We shout with ecstatic joy over your breakthrough for us. (Psa 145:7)
I’ve just been reading about how the early Egyptians were so finicky that they used to stop worshipping and giving sacrifices to their chosen gods whenever they felt unfairly dealt with – in effect, blaming them for everything that was happening.
It seemed that they really believed that all their prayers and their giving warranted a totally 'blessed' life, and unless they (constantly) got whatever they wanted, they would simply walk away from that god and never go back!
Sounds so silly to our more civilised minds doesn't it - thank GOD we don’t act that way with the Living GOD huh?
Father, please forgive my constant selfish petulance, please help me to come back to your loving care. I miss You, Lord… Amen.
