(Luke 4:18) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”

I was up early this morning and caught an old recording of Derek Prince. He asked why some preachers today rely on their own persona or rhetorical skill to draw and keep the crowd. In contrast, the Holy Spirit empowers preaching by working within and alongside the individual's words to bear witness to Jesus Christ with truly Heavenly results!

The Book of Acts reinforces this view. It gloriously presents the Holy Spirit as the "life principle" of the early church and provides many separate and dramatic instances of His Awesome outpouring on believers.

In my mind (and as I see it in the Bible), the act of preaching and the aim of preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ are humanly impossible. They are actually only possible in the Power of the Holy Spirit because (a) “The Lord (alone) opens hearts…” (Acts 16:14), and this Scripture is conjoined with (b) “… the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted, and they see.” (2 Cor 3:16)

Since it began almost twenty years ago, my aim for this blog has been to encourage, comfort, and edify people. During that time (and in my life), I have known and endeavoured to share with you, my friends, the testimonies of many wonderful men and women who, in their submission to our Lord, have revealed the Holy Spirit in such magnificently glorious ways.

Meet with the Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 8 today, and see for yourself …

  1. Walk in the Spirit (Rom 8:4)
  2. Set your minds on the things of the Spirit (Rom. 8:5)
  3. Put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit (Rom. 8:13)
  4. Be led by the Spirit (Rom. 8:14)
  5. Know the Fatherhood of GOD by the Spirit (Rom. 8:14-17)
  6. Hope in the Spirit (Rom 8:22-25)
  7. Pray in the Spirit (Rom 8:26)

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️

Please grant your power of healing to those who minister to all the sick among us so that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏
