(Luke 8:21) He (Jesus) replied, “My mother and brothers are the ones who hear and do God’s Word. Obedience is thicker than blood.”

This verse reminds me of when I was listening to a visiting Preacher. He was giving a good, encouraging talk when suddenly he stopped and started scanning the congregation. He focused on one man and said, “Sir, please stand. Have we ever met?” The man (a friend of mine) told him no. The Preacher then asked him to get up and run around the inside of the building … With no hesitation; my friend did as he was asked and began running a circuit.

We all stared in amazement as he ran around us. Once he'd completed his lap, the Preacher thanked him and asked him to return to his seat.

The Preacher said, “I often wonder why a complete stranger can make such an odd command, and we’ll obey—either out of curiosity or embarrassment. However, when God asks us something, then we’ll ponder, pause, seek confirmations, look for scriptural evidence, etc…!

What has GOD been speaking to YOU about these past days...?

(Luke 11:28) “(Jesus speaking)"… Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!”

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara and Ian fighting cancer. Please also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay after a total knee operation and give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs so that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care.
