(Oswald Chambers - 1874/1917) The call of GOD embarrasses us because of two things – it presents us with sealed orders and urges us to a vast venture.

When GOD calls us He does not tell us along the line of our natural senses what to expect; GOD’s call is a command that ‘asks’ us, that means there is always a possibility of refusal on our part.

Faith never knows where it is being led, it knows and loves the one who is leading. It is a life of ‘faith’, not of intelligence and reason, but a life of knowing who is making me “go.”

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara with colon cancer and Ian fighting cancer. Please also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay after a total knee operation. Pray for peace and the correct pain relief for them all so they may enjoy Your rest. And give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs so that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
