(Mat 26:42) "Your will be done”
I received a great response to a recent blog post from a lovely sister on 'losing hope' and just had to share it. I hope it blesses you, too (no pun intended).
God doesn't want us to go through any of these life challenges His original plan in the garden of Eden and now the promise of Revelation when we will live in His City is that He provides for all our needs and we have no pain. We will talk with Him and enjoy His close presence.
I was thinking the other day about Moses and the Israelites and their 40 years in the desert.
Why did He need to remove them? Because they were suffering from PTSD and other mental problems from being brutally enslaved. They needed to heal and adapt to a normal way of life.
Why put them in the desert? So they were safe and could be with God - His pillar of cloud and fire His presence on the mountain.
Why give them rules? He gave them rules (boundaries) so that they could build their own community and live as a free society and enjoy a safe space to practice this new way of living.
Why give them tasks? He gave them tasks to bring the Community together - building the Ark of the Covenant and setting up worship patterns so something of God's power went with them when they left the desert.
God took His people aside to heal them and they didn't even have to feed themselves or worry about their clothing as food was provided by Him daily and nothing ever wore out - and yet just like us they moaned and whinged and whined and ultimately one complete generation missed out on God's plan the promised land.
God just wants to love us and we just have to trust Him and let His love enfold us.
These last few days I have trusted God and prayed His love into some challenging situations and I have been blessed and so have others. We may not have an Ark of the Covenant but we have Jesus who never leaves us. Praise Him that He is far bigger than our limited imaginations xx
Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara with colon cancer and Ian fighting cancer. Please also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay after a total knee operation. Pray for peace and the correct pain relief for them all so they may enjoy Your rest. And give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs so that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
