(Prov 3:5) "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”
In a world that is fast becoming subject to confusing and contradictory emotions, then it's paramount that we know that GOD most certainly understands because He not only created us with emotions but also knows that those emotions are now distorted because of sin.
The Bible states that any emotion (sorry, worry, fear, even pleasure) should be brought in prayer to GOD, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the Peace of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil 4:6)
If we were to break down the above Scripture, our emotions would come under the heading “Your own understanding.” So, because the Holy Spirit teaches us to walk by faith and not by sight (ergo, what we feel, think, fear, etc...), we should not allow our emotions to control our lives or our relationships with others.
Think about this: He loved us so much that He sent his beloved son to live among us, subject to all we experienced, including emotions!
Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara with colon cancer and Ian fighting cancer. Please also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay after a total knee operation. Pray for peace and the correct pain relief for them all so they may enjoy Your rest. And give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs so that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
