"If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands." (John 14:15)

An online banner just stuck in my mind: "Be obedient to GOD, even when you don't understand the command!"

Sometimes, the moral commands in Scripture don’t make sense to us. This is not altogether unsurprising since Christianity is constantly being attacked [interrogated] by worldviews and their ethical systems.

As such, between our sinfulness, the influence of our culture, and our lack of attention to GOD and his worldview, we’re all susceptible to thinking we’re a better judge of what is right and good than GOD is!

The answer to the dilemma is written out for us, "Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognise, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth [of the Gospel] is not in him." (1 John 2:4)

So, we can't honestly say we 'know' GOD until we walk down the path of obeying Himeven when we don't understand the command. As I see it, our obedience is the evidence of our common union (communion) with Him, and we simply love and trust Him enough to honour Him.

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️

NB - Thank you so much for your continuing prayer support for Jean's family as well as our brother Ian and his family.

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us, and give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs so that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
