"Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]." (I Thes 5:18)
How hard is it to actually DO this…?!? I mean, to actually thank [GOD] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, to be thankful and give thanks]…?
I got news from Jean's brother-in-law early yesterday morning that Jean had passed away at the hospital, and even though I know she went home to be with the Lord (and I should be ecstatic about that), I couldn't seem to shake the grief...
In fact, it took me a long time to refocus and remember that when things don't go our way, we have a choice. We can either move closer to GOD during the bad times or walk away from him when we feel let down!
The Apostle Paul encourages us to give thanks no matter the circumstances (and stay close to GOD). That way, we acknowledge (by Faith) that GOD is in control and that He is at work to produce good things—even during tough times.
Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
NB - Thank you so much for your continuing prayer support for Jean's family and not forgetting our brother Ian.
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Ian, and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs so that he may be strengthened in his weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
