"...the Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw," (2 Kings 6:17)
Thank you so much for your beautiful responses to yesterday's message and assurances to keep Jean and her family, as well as Ian and his family, in your prayers.
I've listened to countless nuggets of GOD's goodness and Grace from my friend and Pastor John Smith and have just received another one to set you up for your day.
"Back in the 1980s, we had a large pet centre in the town, where we kept all manner of creatures. We had 80 animal enclosures, around 90 aquariums, a reptile section, and all the necessary stocks.
One morning we opened as usual, but it wasn’t long before we realised that a very large Mexican Red Knee Tarantula was missing from his enclosure! Obviously, we couldn't keep the shop open under these circumstances and so we had to close straight away.
Tarantulas prefer limited interaction; they are not pets that enjoy being handled or seek human interaction, and their delicate nature makes handling risky for both the owner and the tarantula itself. Anyway, there were so many hiding places it seemed like an impossible task for us, so we took time out and asked the Lord to please reveal where it was; at the time, I was building a new unit where there were 4 x 8ft long metal lamp shades one inside the other. I began to look into that area when suddenly, as I looked at the shades, I could see right through them as if they were obscure glass, and there, in the middle, I could see the outline of the spider. I excitedly called my friends over, pointing to the spider, but they couldn’t see it!
Nonetheless, we carefully removed each of the shades, and there it was, just where I had seen it! We were very relieved that God certainly did reveal exactly where the spider was hiding in such a miraculous way; the Lord’s care for us in what’s such a small thing really amplifies his loving kindness and always amazes me. Be encouraged; nothing in our lives is too small for him to show his great care and concern for us.
The Holy Spirit led me to the Psalms, "The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him." (Psa 28:7)
Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
