“You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. This [is what] I command you: that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another. (John 15:16)
It's funny how lots of us start turning back when the going gets tough, but Jesus specifically tells us here that if we ‘do what it says on the tin’ (i.e., produce fruit), then whatever we need (in order to flourish) will be supplied. "But - we're to remember the root command: Love and unselfishly seek the best for one another!" (i.e., no obeying of the root command = no input from Heaven ∴ disaster!
The Holy Spirit reminds me of Psalm 33, "God’s eye is on those who respect him, the ones who are looking for his love. He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times..."
Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
