"...our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.” (Eph 6:12)
I was discussing the implications of the above Scripture yesterday with my good friend and Pastor John Smith (please see yesterday’s message for context) when he recounted the following event to me, which I could not resist sharing with you all … Be Blessed.
“I love fishing, but as we were living in London at the time, it was very difficult to find places to fish. As such, many years ago, I took a day off, and my eldest son and I went on a fishing trip to the coast. About halfway there, the exhaust blew on my car, and we limped into a nearby exhaust garage to get it looked at.
They told me they had one in stock, and we could wait outside while it was being replaced. It was a nice day, so we sat on a wall opposite and watched as the exhaust mechanic started dismantling the broken exhaust. Halfway into the process, there was an almighty bang and a clatter and finally, the mechanic came out to us, wiping his hands on a rag and said, “Did you know that you have a large hole in your radiator?” I shook my head and said, “No. We don’t have a hole in our radiator.” He just shrugged his shoulders, turned away and replied dryly over his shoulder, “Well, you do now!” And off he went back to working under our car.
I knew what he’d done. He’d been trying to undo one of the bolts, and his spanner had slipped and smashed into the radiator, causing the hole. Well, I wasn’t best pleased, and with my son staring at me for direction, I tried to keep my peace and just said, “Come on, son, let’s pray and ask the Lord for His help.”
After we prayed, I couldn’t stop watching the mechanic as he kept working as if nothing had happened, his hands above his head as he pried loose the broken exhaust, piece by piece. I kept praying for him even though inside, I was fuming and my thoughts were raging. Then, quite unexpectedly, the mechanic stood stock still. His head suddenly drooped down, and I watched, amazed, as his hands dropped to his side and the tools he held in his hands fell to the floor. He then slowly walked away from our car towards the office and entered. About ten minutes later, his boss came out and approached us. “I am so sorry,” he said, “It appears that while our mechanic was taking your exhaust off, his spanner slipped, and he inadvertently damaged your radiator. I’ve just ordered you a new one, and it will be delivered here shortly."
Our Heaven Father reminds me of His Promise: “For I the Lord your God keep hold of your right hand; [I am the Lord], Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’” (Isa 41:13)
Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
