"...our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.” (Eph 6:12)

I received the above Scripture about half a dozen times this last few days and was wondering what it was all about when I happened to see Christianity so openly mocked in the Olympic opening ceremony with the unbelievably crass portrayal of our Lord's Last Supper.

The thing is, if you use the above Scripture as your point of reference, then you'll understand that whoever put this stuff together is being used as no more than the cat's paw for the rulers, the powers, the world forces of this [present] darkness, and the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

Let's face it, we Christians have been easy targets throughout history because we're told by Jesus not to fight back, and if someone "... strikes you on the cheek, offer him the other one also [simply ignore insignificant insults or losses and do not bother to retaliate—maintain your dignity]. (Luke 6:29)

It reminds me of a time when I was the webmaster for a blue-chip communications company in central London. We were all called to the Board room to review about a dozen new marketing campaigns. At one point, the marketing guys presented a very sexually explicit proposal to the board, and as each of the men licked their lips over the campaign visuals, I just knew this was going to get pushed through.

The atmosphere was charged with lust as I began praying my usual prayer (Lord HELP), and when all eyes turned to me for my vote, the head of marketing said, "Now then, let's get the Christian view on this!" In response, I heard myself say, "This may well win the hearts and minds of the men watching, but as they only represent about 35% of our overall target audience, how do you think the women will react to this overt display of sexuality against them? Sorry, but logic dictates that we vote to go with the kid-friendly cartoons and animals as presented on the first pitch."

It was as if the spirit of lust had been banished! Within a few seconds, the atmosphere in the board room fizzled back to normal, and everyone shook their heads and voted unanimously for the first pitch. FYI, we were advised later that a 'normal' campaign response would be expected to return around 4 or 5%. The first pitch took a 24% return and actually became part of the Company's eventual total brand strategy.

Our Heaven Father reminds me of His Promise: "It is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deu 31:8)

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️
