This reminds me of something I read in GOD's Generals. Apparently, John G Lake (famous healer) was taught the power of prayer while he visited a remote village on an African trip. Apparently, a small child had died of an accident during which they'd broken their neck.
It seems that the village pastor rebuked John for quitting early when he gave the baby back to the village pastor after not seeing any signs of life after praying for just a few minutes.
The Pastor continued holding and praying for a further 24 hours until the child was fully restored to life!
Lord - I believe; please help my unbelief ...
