(Jesus speaking) "So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of] the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets.” (Mat 7:12)

While researching marriage, I saw this - but I’m sure it could genuinely apply to any pursuit! Enjoy …

“I wanted to get married when I was only 18, and as I pondered this, an old priest told me to get out a piece of paper and write down the qualities that I respected and wanted for my own wife.

So that’s what I did. I got out a legal piece of paper, 33 lines long, and I wrote down the particular quality I was looking for on every single line.

  • I wanted her to be trustworthy – I wanted to be able to trust her.
  • I wanted her to be devout – someone who prays and has her own relationship with GOD, (I’m number two, not number one)!
  • I wanted her to love the outdoors – she should enjoy GOD’s creation.
  • I wanted her to take good care of herself – physically, mentally, and spiritually.
  • I wanted her to read the Scriptures faithfully – to love the Bible as much as I did.

… Etc., etc., I just wrote down everything I wanted her to be.

When I'd finished, I returned to the old priest with my paper, and he told me, "Now take your paper, erase the top line ‘My Future Wife,’ and put YOUR name there! Now go and ‘be’ those things you want in her, and be confident that GOD will find you your match in pursuing those things."

Our Heaven Father reminds me that your source of help comes from the Lord. He isn't going to swoop down and make it easy for you, but He will be with you every step of the way, as Scripture says, “For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer 29:11)

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️
