So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.” Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, living before his face is my saving grace! (Psalms 42:11)

I’m normally quite strong at fighting problems, but when I found myself facing being ‘riddled with cancer’, I found a whole new 'me' that I didn’t understand – or much like! All I wanted to do was to go find a quiet dark corner, curl up and …!

GOD, however, had other plans for me. He ministered to me through the most determined people. Other than my good friend Les who prayed and called me daily from SA, my good friend Henry took me to all my chemotherapy sessions, encouraged and loved me through each 6/8 hour gruelling session and wouldn’t let me drift away into self-pity. My good friend Guy insisted that I took up cycling and made me drag my fat suit up and down the Olympic cycle route at Box Hill! The embarrassment was horrid – I kid you not, I was being overtaken by little old grannies!

My three daughters wouldn’t let go either. They reminded me constantly of our family motto: WE DON’T QUIT!

In effect, my GOD did break through for me, and I did have plenty of reasons to Praise him all over again. I was living before his face in all His saving grace!
