“O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I’ll bless his holy name! O my soul, bless God, don’t forget a single blessing!

He forgives your sins—every one.

He heals your diseases—every one.

He redeems you from hell—saves your life!

He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown…

God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet…

God is sheer mercy and grace; not easily angered, he’s rich in love. He doesn’t endlessly nag and scold, nor hold grudges forever.

He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, nor pay us back in full for our wrongs… he has separated us from our sins.

As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him…

God’s love, though, is ever and always, eternally present to all who fear him, Making everything right for them and their children as they follow his Covenant ways and remember to do whatever he said…

Bless God, all creatures, wherever you are-everything and everyone made by God. And you, O my soul, bless God! (Psa 103)

We once had a visiting Preacher who described listening to words from our wives as "the second voice—i.e. the one after GOD."

So, I was sitting down enjoying my tea and toast this morning when my wife looked up from her Bible and said, "Don't you just love Psalm 103?" Then, she began to read it from the Message translation.

It was much too good to keep to myself, so I'm sharing it with you too - because I love you ...

As usual, I asked the Lord what He wanted to say to us, and I asked Him how the Word of God brings life. This is what I found.

The Word of God has a reviving effect because it causes life to come from death, not only once and for all to those dead in their sins (Eph. 2:1) but to the believer especially in times of deep struggle with sin (Rom. 7).

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️
