“I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exo 15:26)
Continuing with the theme of Miracles through Worship Encounters. I’d decided that my behind was getting too big just sitting on a pew and offered my services to the welcome group at the main door.
It was a cold day, and as I stood outside enjoying the worship, I noticed a young lady approaching the church that we hadn’t seen for a while. I was preparing myself to greet her, but as she got close, she suddenly stopped, looked up, down, and around, turned on her heel, and went back the way she came.
I was thinking that she must have forgotten to lock the door or something when I felt the gentle nudge of the Lord and ran after her—she gave me both barrels!
She was going through breast cancer, the treatment was horrible, nothing was helping, she was sick of it all, life was lousy, everyone was a hypocrite …
We walked round and around town for an age and I truly couldn’t get a word in. When we finally stopped, I looked up and we were back at the Church steps just as the sliding doors parted and a man barged out, his face a mask of anger and his demeanour spoke volumes about getting out of his way! She lunged out and grabbed him by the arm—he gave her both barrels!
He was going through a lousy time, life was horrible, nothing was helping, he was sick of it all, everyone was a hypocrite …
Nonplussed, she gently stared into his face for a long time. Then, without a word, they sat down together on the Church steps and wept into each other’s arms. At some unknown signal, they both got up and, arm in arm, walked back into the Church in time for communion.
Sometimes, we don’t actually get to ‘see’ the Miracle as much as ‘know’ that it’s happened. As such, I never did find out what had transpired. I saw them both later laughing and interacting in their respective friendship groups. So, I just thanked GOD and left them at Peace in His Awesome care.
As usual, I've asked the Lord what He wants to say to you, and I believe He led me to Luke 16:15.
"God knows your hearts [your thoughts, your desires, your secrets]"
“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
