“... the Lord saw the wickedness of man, and it grieved Him to his heart." (Exo 5:1)

What breaks GOD's heart? What tears at GOD's Soul? (I use this term advisedly. The Hebrew word nephesh is the word for soul in the Old Testament, and some passages use this nephesh about GOD. For example, in Jeremiah 32:41, GOD says, "I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.)"

So, what breaks GOD's heart? Sin! And what is sin, but a willfully immoral act which is considered to be a transgression against Divine law, "... the Lord saw the wickedness of man, and it grieved Him to his heart. (Gen 6:5)

Yes, GOD is truly gracious and merciful, and he will choose to remember our sins no more (Heb 8:12). But it still hurts him and grieves the Holy Spirit deeply when we choose to sin against Him by not trusting him and choosing our own path.

So, I asked you, my brothers and sisters, we that have been created in GOD's image; what breaks your heart, and what tears at your Soul? Please GOD it can be the same as that which breaks GOD's heart and tears at His Soul.
