(Jesus speaking) “The One that God sent speaks God’s words. And don’t think he rations out the Spirit in bits and pieces. The Father loves the Son extravagantly. He turned everything over to him so he could give it away—a lavish distribution of gifts. That is why whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn’t see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that.” (‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭34).

As I see it, Jesus is laying down only two paths.

1. (Queue angelic music and a spectacular light show) We can lay down all our protective strategies and arguments and accept and trust the Son for who he says he is—thereby getting in on everything, life complete and forever! Or ...

2. (Queue scary music, booming darkness, and a disgustingly permeable smell that will never leave your olfactory system - ever.) We can continue walking along the path of avoiding the Son by not accepting him for who he says he is and keep trying to fix ourselves while all the time walking away from the light and truth into deeper darkness, and unfortunately, experience an angry darkness at that.

So, today’s agenda is definitely: (a) laying down all our fears and trusting the Son and (b) lovingly accepting all the gifts that the Holy Spirit wants to give us!

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
