Most of us don’t get to hear GOD speaking to us audibly like Abraham, and I don’t want to go into the myriad possible reasons why this happens, or I’ll be writing this page forever! All I’ll say is that whenever my heart screamed out for assurance, direction or comfort, He ALWAYS comes through!
Maybe not through His audible voice, but maybe ‘someone’ would make contact, or I’d read something in my Bible, and the words would jump out at me, or He would even highlight the words of a Poster on a wall in a Subway - somehow I'd just 'know' that He was speaking …!
The thing is, one of the biggest hurdles I ever had to jump across was “Is He GOD?” (i.e. is He Able to do ANYTHING)? The second hurdle (which is almost as high as the last) is “Does He care enough about me to answer…?”
If there are ‘any’ doubts in either of these questions, then it’s a reasonable request to ‘ask’ Him to prove Himself.
Go on … He's daring you!
