“This is GOD’s Word on the subject: “…I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” GOD’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you…” Jer 29:11)

The older I get, the more I realise that we live our lives like crabs in a bucket. (NB - This is a metaphor I found which is derived from anecdotal claims about the behaviour of crabs when they are trapped in a bucket. While any one crab can easily start to climb out, it will nonetheless be pulled back in by the others - ensuring the group's collective demise).

This reminds me of a time when my wife and I witnessed a distraught mother's sustained attack of negativity and cynicism rip and tear her teenage daughter's dreams to pieces. The young girl came to us afterwards stooped and distraught and asked for help, and we fed her on GOD’s amazing hope, promise, and peace. We didn't judge the mother - she undoubtedly had horrible problems of her own, but her daughter walked away with her spine erect and such a glowing face; it was a beautiful privilege to behold.

Lord, please help us bring God’s Kingdom into our world today.

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
