(Romans 4:16) "This is why the fulfillment of God’s promise depends entirely on trusting God and his way, and then simply embracing him and what he does. God’s promise arrives as pure gift. That’s the only way everyone can be sure to get in on it, those who keep the religious traditions and those who have never heard of them. For Abraham is father of us all. He is not our racial father—that’s reading the story backward. He is our faith father.
We call Abraham “father” not because he got God’s attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody…. When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.”
Scripture clearly shows us that when everything seems hopeless, our Father GOD is not asking us to bury our heads in the sand and ignore what’s happening around us but to ask (cry) for help and turn everything over to Him, faithfully 'expecting' Him to work!
How can we have this certainty? (Psalm 34:17) “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”
But ... what happens if I don't 'feel' righteous? (2 Corinthians 5:21) “God made him [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him [Jesus] we might become the righteousness of God.”
NB - To be declared righteous in GOD's sight, you must be willing to put all your sins on Christ and take up his righteousness. I know this is hard to accept, but thankfully, it is. GOD offers to take your sin and exchange it for his righteousness if you allow it. (Ezekiel 18:21) "But a wicked person who turns his back on that life of sin and keeps all my statutes, living a just and righteous life, he’ll live, really live. He won’t die. I won’t keep a list of all the things he did wrong. He will live. Do you think I take any pleasure in the death of wicked men and women? Isn’t it my pleasure that they turn around, no longer living wrong but living right—really living?"
GOD, who created all our hearts, says, “Come to Me, my dear Child, and I will show you how to break free and live! Do your part and trust in Me enough to honour Me.”
