(Matthew 6:14) [Jesus speaking] “In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.”
THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS ...
I once witnessed a terrible argument at work. I was trying to intervene when one of the men suddenly stopped arguing and said to the other, “Suppose you had £86,400, and I ‘allegedly’ stole £1,000 from you. Would you throw away the other £85,400 on employing solicitors or thugs who would try to get the £1,000 back?! No, you wouldn’t! You’d get over it and be more careful.”
My interest was piqued! Where was this going, I wondered. He continued: “There are only 86,400 seconds in a day, and you’ve already thrown away 1,000 being upset at me – let’s not waste anymore!”
At that, he reached across the desk and offered his hand. There was a long pause as everyone around them stood in awe until they finally both shook hands, and forgiveness and acceptance were reached. I shook my head in amazement, mumbled ‘Hallelujah,’ and got on with my work.
Lord, help me to realize how short my time here really is and not waste it on stupid, toxic, and ugly arguments. Amen.
GOD, who created all our hearts, says, “Stop stressing and listen to My Voice—My love will guide you. Do your part and trust in Me enough to honour Me.”
