THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS ...

Christmas. A time of mutual giving and receiving. A time of honest communication.

Thinking on that line, praying was difficult for me in the beginning. The Church I attended always seemed full of clever people who seemed to effortlessly expound amazing prayers, and even though I read countless ‘self-help’ books to try and copy what they did, I never felt I had the confidence to say anything deep—much less connect with God.

But GOD, who created all our hearts, said, “Stop stressing. I hear your intent and know your needs. Don’t couch everything in holy language—just be real! My love will guide you through—just do your part and trust in Me enough to honour Me.” 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Paul, Roger, Alastair, Ian, Alex, Alexander, Lynette, James, Keiron, Samantha, Jay, Liliana, Maria, Susanna, and those you bring to our minds right now… Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
