(1 John 5:11) “This is the testimony in essence: God gave us eternal life; the life is in his Son. So, whoever has the Son, has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life."

Whichever way you look at it, the word 'reject' is pretty damning (no pun intended)!

Meanwhile, the antonym for rejection is ‘welcome’. So the question is, "How do I welcome someone I don’t know—someone I have never met?"

Frankly, it's pretty easy. We’ve been constantly introduced to strangers all our lives. Some have become our good friends, some we’ve married—and some we’ve even raised as our children.

Lord GOD, thank You for the life You've given us in Your Son Jesus. Please help us get to know You and trust You enough to honour You. Amen.

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into Your presence and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Alastair, Barbara, Ian, James, Keiron, Jay, Liliana, Maria and Susanna. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
