(1 Corinthians 10:13) “No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].”

"I walk down the street. There’s a hole in the pavement, and I fall in. I'm convinced that it isn’t my fault. I'm hurting, and it takes me forever to get out.

I walk down the same street again. There’s a hole in the pavement, but I turn my head away this time and pretend I don’t see it. I fall in again. I can’t believe I’m in the same place; still, it isn’t my fault.

I walk down the same street again. There’s that hole in the pavement again. I have my eyes open, and even though I see it, I still manage to fall in somehow! The pain and embarrassment are awful. But this time, as I lay there in my shame, I cry out to the Lord for help. He answers my prayer, my eyes open, and I see exactly where I am. I accept the Holy Spirit's nudging that this was my fault, and after repenting, I somehow get back out.

I walk down the same street. There’s that hole in the pavement again. I slowly walk around it. "I can't keep doing this," I decide. "I will ask the Holy Spirit to walk me down a different street from now on!"

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into Your presence and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. ❤️
