(John 14:26) “... the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Questions I've been asked to answer ...

Q. Why did God give us the Holy Spirit?

A. The simple answer is that the Holy Spirit has been given to us so we can know 'who' GOD is and 'how' to follow Him.

Q. How does He speak to us?

A. Often, the Holy Spirit speaks to us in our minds by giving us a thought or an idea. Or He leads us by making an impression upon our hearts to say something, do something, or think something, (always in accord with GOD's will). He works with us as we read GOD's Word together - because He wants to help us understand what we read. We can also expect the Holy Spirit to bring to our remembrance the truth about who GOD is, who we are, what GOD promises, what GOD has done, and what GOD will do in and through us.

Q. Can I lose the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit continually mediates GOD's presence in our lives (as well as in the Church). Whenever we allow our feelings to overcome our faith, He faithfully assures us of our forgiveness and our adoption as GOD's children.

Q. How do we keep hold of the Holy Spirit?

A. (Ephesians 1:13-14). “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit seals our souls as redeemed and reconciled to GOD, marking us as His own possession. This seal allows us to live free in the grace of GOD from the bondage of sin - and from trying to prove our righteousness through our own actions!

NB - Holiness, as we understand it, is not just about making us personally righteous, but it is about extending GOD’s glory and righteousness to all peoples of the world!

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into Your presence and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. ❤️

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara and Ian fighting cancer. We also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay and Liliana. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏
