(2 Tim 3:1) “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”
I believe that GOD's purpose this past week was to underscore the fact that if we accept the advice of the Lord, then we're open to Heavenly interventions, whereas when if we 'choose' to reject the advice of the Holy Spirit or His directives, then the Bible (clearly) points out that we are in unbelief! By all accounts, being in unbelief is quite serious. When we reject GOD's discipline and choose to go our own way, then what’s at stake is our eternal souls!
NB - The biblical meaning of unbelief is a stubborn refusal to believe in GOD and His Word; as such, unbelief is a lack of faith. Because to GOD, being an unbeliever means you do not trust Him and have no faith in Him, and you therefore 'choose' to place yourself under a different authority (under the curse of sin and death [Adam's curse], which gets to direct the course of your life).
Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into Your presence and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen.
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara and Ian fighting cancer. We also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay and Liliana. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
