Consequences of a [Supernatural] relationship with the Holy Spirit. (4)

(Continuing on from yesterday’s message)... “Jesus...? You want to know about Jesus said the senior accounts clerk? Then let me tell you about how my damaged son and I met Jesus…”!

“My son had been born to us without any hearing. Oh, yes, he had two ears at the side of his head like all of us, but nothing had been formed in his head, and as such, he remained quite deaf!

We had visited many specialists, and the doctors had all told us that it would be challenging to make an accurate prognosis at this stage. They finally agreed that we had to wait until he was about 8 years old until his skull was sufficiently formed before they could decide on their next steps. We subsequently received an appointment, and I scheduled a day off work to take him to the hospital.

My wife, in the meantime, took the problem to her Jesus and her born-again mates at the church … I didn’t believe any of it at the time and stayed quite out of it, thinking it was all just nonsense.

The hospital appointment came, and I took my son to the hospital. After depositing him with a nurse, I sat at the end of the small corridor. I remember folding my coat and placing it onto the hard plastic chair for comfort. I opened my paper and flask of tea and began waiting. After about half an hour, I noticed a medical file sail across the corridor, spewing papers everywhere, followed by a loud and grumpy voice shouting, “Nurse! I told you to bring me the file on the deaf boy. This boy can hear perfectly well!”

Somehow, all the ‘bits’ that were confirmed missing at his birth and through countless subsequent examinations and x-rays had mysteriously appeared and were perfectly placed back together…!”

I couldn’t wait to get back home and let his Mum see how beautifully happy he was – we both were!”

No one spoke for a long while until I finally asked, “Did you then believe?” “Oh yes,” he stammered. “What else could I do but believe in this GOD and Jesus?

I looked around our small enclave in the office, and (yes, you’ve guessed it) another man rolled his office chair up to my desk and said, “Now let me tell you how my friend got healed. He was born with polio, and his leg was all shrivelled up, and he could only move around on crutches … “ (To be continued …)

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into your heart and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—such as Barbara and Ian fighting cancer. We also pray for a quick and full healing for Jay and Liliana. Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
