Thank God because he’s good, because his love never quits. (Psa 118:1).

Yesterday’s ‘bike’ theme particularly reminded me of when I was trying to teach one of my daughters how to ride a bike.

Kids then didn’t have all the paraphernalia that parents offer their kids today. No pavement-defying elbow pads, shock-absorbing knee pads, or multi-layered helmets existed. If you fell, it hurt!

Anyway, I’d taken off the training wheels as was running alongside my daughter in the street, and she was doing really well, peddling nicely, keeping her balance beautifully and confidently. I had just let go of the saddle when my wife happened to shout out her name, saying, “WELL DONE…”!

Hearing her name, my daughter turned her head to acknowledge the praise and lost her balance. We spent the next 20 minutes digging Yorkshire gravel and grit out of her hands and knees while all the time listening to her mother sobbing and berating me: “… She wasn’t ready, and if you loved and respected me, you wouldn’t take her out again until she was ready!”

A few days later, she was ready, and I took her back out again (OK, her mother was out at the time). She was fighting her fear but excited to try again, and of course, she absolutely nailed it this time.

Why did I do it? Because I didn’t want fear to stop her. I wanted her to feel the joy of mastering cycling for herself, feel the wind in her face, and experience the joy of all her hard work.

I know many of you on this Blog are going through lots of la la right now. Mental and physical problems that would ‘naturally’ be overwhelming for most people (but) we follow a GOD that is ‘above’ nature—A Living GOD who is ‘Supernatural.’

He's a GOD who doesn’t quit, Who grabs hold of our saddle, runs alongside us, continually encourages us, and pushes us through our fear. Why? Because he’s good and because his love never quits. Amen?

As usual, I asked the Lord what He wanted to say, and He took me to this Psalm, "But You, O Lord, are a God [who protects and is] merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and truth." (Psa 86:15)

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
