Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. (Jam 5:16)

This is an excellent testimony of what this Scripture means and how prayer connects us all.

”I met a man some time ago who was new to my life, and he came to me and said, “Can I pray for you?” I said, “Sure, you can pray for me.” What he did next caught me right off guard. He said, “How can I pray for you? Is there something that you’re believing for? Is there something you’re struggling with that you need help praying about?"

Embarrassed by his candour, I gave him two random things and left. A few days later, I saw him in town, and he ran up to me, hugged me lovingly and asked, “How are you?” I said, “Fine, thanks.” He then asked, “How are the two specific things you asked me to pray about?” To be honest, I’d forgotten all about them; in fact, they were so random that I didn’t even remember them. He then reminded me about them. I felt ashamed, and rather than admit that to him, I lied and told him oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they’re all good now, thanks.

In fact, for several weeks, every time I bumped into him (and it seemed to be a lot), he continually asked me the same thing. Finally, one day, I worked up the courage to tell him that I’d not been completely honest with him and that I’d been embarrassed by his request and had just thrown two random things at him. He didn’t look particularly upset or hurt. So, I went on and let him know that I was deeply sorry for how my pride got in the way and I apologised.

He said, “I know - but it still gave me the opportunity to pray for you and that’s all that matters.” He went on to say, “You see, the thing that we miss in prayer is that we know that prayer is a way to talk to GOD, and we know that prayer is putting things and situations into the hands of our GOD, who is more than capable of anything that we can ask or think. But the thing that we overlook when we pray for one another (which the Bible tells us to do) is that it syncs us deeper together – it invests me and you into each other’s lives, and it connects us in ways that nothing else can!

“In fact, when I’m praying for you and GOD does those things in your life, then our connection means that GOD is also doing those things in ‘my’ life too! (with the measure you use, it will be measured unto you [Mat 7:1])! So, we ‘both’ benefit from it, and because you and I are part of the ‘body’ of Christ – if you win, 'we' all win. I’m invested in this! He then asked me again, “How can I pray for you?” And this time, I got a lot more serious!

As usual, I asked the Lord what He wanted to say, and He reminded me of this verse, “For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ. For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed—united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life]." (1 Cor 12:12)

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️
