“Because of the surpassing greatness and extraordinary nature of the revelations [which I received from God], for this reason, to keep me from thinking of myself as important, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, to torment and harass me—to keep me from exalting myself! (2 Cor 12:7)
I heard a great talk today on the above Scripture by a wonderful man of GOD, Zac Poonen (Link below), who incidentally reminds me a lot of the late Pastor Colin Urquhart.
“Does GOD heal every sickness? No. He does heal many times, and I’ve experienced that myself. But I also know that He doesn’t heal sometimes. And if He doesn’t heal, there’s a very good reason for it. Paul prayed three times, and he would have prayed 30 times if he did not get an answer because Paul was the type of person that would pray until he got an answer.
And GOD said to him, “I’m not going to heal you, you need this weakness throughout your life to humble you - to break you. Otherwise, you’ll become proud, and I’ll become your enemy - and Paul, I don’t want to be your enemy.
“I want to keep on giving your grace for the rest of your life so that I can use you mightily all over the world. And make you write Scripture and do so many wonderful things. But I cannot do that if you become proud.
So, I have to do something for you. That’s why I’ve given you this. So don’t ask me again. You will not be healed, and this will keep you humble …” https://www.facebook.com/reel/1516770275580353
As usual, I've asked the Lord what He wants to say to you, and after reading the above, I believe He led me here.
"GOD detests pride and will always humble those who operate out of it. In GOD's mercy, He seeks to humble us to save us from the dangers of pride. Hebrews 12:6:11 reminds us that He chastens us because He loves us, and we are His children in Jesus. NB - You can always humble yourself before GOD humbles you."
“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
