“Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live—and everyone in your house included!” (Acts 16:31 MSG)
I wrote recently about how this Scripture became alive to me. I also mentioned that I really felt the Lord asking me to ask YOU the question - what does it mean to you?
Here's another magnificent response from a very dear brother in the UK.
Sometimes we feel as though no matter what we do, it isn't right. Yes, we all make mistakes or walk away from a situation because we can't handle it any more. For many years now I have felt on the outside looking in because of my actions, and my decisions that have led me to where I am now. I've never lost my faith in Jesus but I have found myself going in many wrong directions over the years. Even now I feel as though I'm at a point where I need to make a decision. It's either full on Jesus or its to let go and continue in a way that literally leads to torment. I read a Scripture today that I know very well, but today... today it said something that touched my heart. It's Daniel 3 v 16 to 18 ”Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.’” Daniel 3:16-18 NLT Wow just wow. They were so gracious and respectful to the king BUT they would never worship any other god than the God of the bible. It hit me like a ton of bricks Wow Julian just look what they said... we will never worship your god's and even if He ( the God of isreal) doesn't save us from the fire well that's OK too because HE alone is our God. Today I make a choice, today is a crossroads. I can tell you its not easy to let go of things that are literally a crutch to you, that you hold in tightly too. But today I make that choice to serve my God. My Lord and saviour Then God spoke to me .... Read Jeramiah 29... v 1 to 14 Jeremiah 29:1 This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. Jeremiah 29:2 (This was after King Jehoiachin and the queen mother, the court officials and the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the skilled workers and the artisans had gone into exile from Jerusalem.) Jeremiah 29:3 He entrusted the letter to Elasah son of Shaphan and to Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It said: Jeremiah 29:4 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: Jeremiah 29:5 "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Jeremiah 29:6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Jeremiah 29:7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." Jeremiah 29:8 Yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. Jeremiah 29:9 They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 29:10 This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile." What huge promises he gave them in exile. He said to read from v1 to get the context of his word.. and as I read I saw in verse 4 THIS IS WHAT THE LORD ALMIGHTY, THE GOD OF ISREAL SAYS TO ALL THOSE I... I CARRIED INTO EXILE... Hold on a minute... what do you mean Lord you carried me to where I am? Then again in verse 7 SEEK PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF THE CITY TO WHICH I .... I (AGAIN) CARRIED YOU INTO EXILE... Are you in exile too? I think I am. So today I start by doing as the word says. I'm going to settle down, work hard, pray for my city and town and watch it prosper. God is so good to us. No matter what we are doing, no matter where we find ourselves, God IS at the centre of it. Today I make a new choice I make a decision that will absolutely change my life and many others because today I choose to serve the God of the bible, the King of Kings, the Lord of the cross who served only one God, who died because of his obedience for me so that today I can make my choice. This testanomy is just but a small part of the work God is doing in me. I want to seek him and find him because its what He wants for me. For you for us all. I pray that as you read these words t your heart is touched and you make that choice today to seek Him. God bless you.
Isn't that just wonderfully encouraging? Come on, send me YOURS now ... you can see from the recent testimonies that they are such an encouragement to all those reading them ...
