Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees… then he (GOD) told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become. (2 Cor 12:7).
I'm currently reading Bradley Jersak and Wm. Paul Young's fabulous (but extremely challenging) book The Pastor: A Crisis.
Basically, I think it's every Christian's nightmare. Keeping (a lot) of internal turmoil hidden, there's an explosive public meltdown right on the Pulpit, followed by a violent incident in the psychiatric ward, which culminates when the Pastor stares into the abyss of his own secret shame. Before he can be free, he must confront his demons and find grace...
Hands in the air ... I might not have been 'there' exactly, but it was only by the Grace of GOD!
How about you?
“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
