All over the World, it's Valentine's Day, and it reminds me of how a Christian Priest in AD 264 was beheaded for breaking Emperor Claudius II’s law that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families. As such, he outlawed marriage for young men.

Valentine, realising the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

While in prison awaiting execution, he got to pray for the jailer's daughter, who was blind and her blindness was healed!

On the day of his execution, he left her a note signed ‘Your Valentine’ 

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11)
