We were at worship practice a while ago when a young lady told us a story of how she was singing a worship song that required her to thank GOD for being her faithful provider. At that point, she felt the Holy Spirit speak to her, saying, “Am I …?”

She then told of a long journey of many months where many 'not so nice' things happened, but GOD ‘proved Himself' faithful in His provision to her. She concluded, “I used to just sing the words to this song. Now I sing from my heart with my soul screaming Amen!”

Lord. Saviour. King. Redeemer. Provider. Friend… of themselves they’re just names, but they all have connotations and definitions that each one of us has categorised with a particular meaning.

NB - GOD has a sense of humour - as I'm writing this, Christian radio is playing Elevation Worship's new song:

Jehovah Nissi, fight your battles
Jehovah Jireh, meet your need
Jehovah Rapha, heal your body
Jehovah Shalom, be your peace

Open your ears and listen ... Your Heavenly Father is saying, “Who am I to YOU, my precious child?”
